Meet Chloe Cabrera (she/her), SOFSA’s new Outreach Coordinator for Double Up Food Bucks! Chloe started at the beginning of November and will be supporting SOFSA’s efforts to facilitate and expand the implementation of Double Up Food Bucks in Syracuse, as well as building a community asset map of the Syracuse-Onondaga area. Keep an eye out for Chloe as you visit DUFB participating sites, including the Syracuse Cooperative Market and Brady Market!

Chloe is originally from Florida, but has been living in upstate New York for the past several years. At Cornell University she studied Animal Science and Biology & Society in undergrad and recently received her Master of Public Health with a concentration in food systems. Chloe’s interest in the food system first began when she started eating vegan in 2017. Her passion for food justice and food access are driven by an interest in plant-based diets and their impact on environmental and public health.

We’re excited to welcome Chloe to Syracuse and introduce her to our vibrant local food system! Chloe is looking forward to staying in upstate New York following her time in Ithaca and exploring the nearby hiking trails, antique shops, and local markets. Through SOFSA, she hopes to connect with people who share her passions for plant-based alternatives and achieving a just food system!

If you would like to know more about Chloe’s work, or have any local vegan suggestions for her, feel free to reach out! Reach her at ccabrera@fieldandforknetwork.com
